Outstanding, Buy It Now!
2008

If you kids haven’t already — beg, steal, and borrow the new Gnarls Barkey single “Run” off their next full length “The Odd Couple”. If this is any indication of their vision let me be the first to drink the punch. Gnarls Barley are making an early move for song of the year.

Oh and the single is available from a few sources including iTunes (bleh! not going to even include a link) or our preferred Amazon with no DRM! Or you can search the internets like ninjas for illegal copies because we all know we’re buying the album when it hits.

Wilco Silkscreen Poster Sale $10-15

Hey I’m not one to buy crappy posters of bands to put up on my walls, but I think you’ll admit that these posters are really gorgeous and for the price a really good deal. Plus who doesn’t love a little Wilco action?

And for the record I just bought $70 worth of these things and I’m not getting any commission or anything. I just love you all.

RIP TUTT - Long Live TUTT

So let’s get down to brass tacks shall we? Up The Tree is going to loose the Tracks Up The Tree podcast. Hold on, hold on, before you start cursing at me let me explain. Up The Tree was never supposed to be the Tracks Up The Tree podcast page. That was supposed to be tracks.upthetree.com then later, due to Josiah’s insistent mistakes, tracksupthetree.com. I really want to write in my weblog and it’s become the posting area for all grumbles on my not recording podcasts… and rightly so. It’s been tough, but we are still here and we’re still recording.

And as much as I hate to admit it, I still love doing the show, so it ain’t going anywhere soon. We have a new show planned and are working on a recording schedule.

But as for Up The Tree, it’s going to return to a bit more self referential material with a bit less music focus. I’m still going to write about music, but in the more abstract sense, Up The Tree no longer reflects all my interests and therefore I don’t write on it near enough– or at all for that matter.

“It’s not you, it’s me.”

So shortly you will see the two sides of this website be ripped apart and take on their own lives as separate entities. We hope this makes us write more. We hope you still love us.
