Skim takes some getting used to, but I drank it for years quite happily. Even 1/2% milk is like cream when skim's your thing.

The wife is mildy lactose intolerant, and because I'm lactose indifferent, we now drink soy milk. An acquired taste, but pretty good.

1/2% is rarer to find, but keep in mind i live in michigan. the midwest. :) in fact, i'm just across a great lake from wisconsin. so, maybe our milkfat variety, as it were, is a little larger?

Is there really 1/2% milk??? I know about skim milk here in Portland, so it's not a left coast thing. I mean, we exist on Starbuck's, if that helps you out. You can ask for a soy latte, a skim no foam mocha, whatever. Starbuck's has it down.

Now wait a minute... this isn't a California thing. I immediately went to Non Fat when I read Skim. Perhaps the genius behind the cart hadn't gotten to the milk portion of her employee manual.
