Even 1/2% milk is like cream when skim's your thing. The wife is mildy lactose intolerant, and because I'm lactose indifferent, we now drink soy milk. An acquired taste, but pretty good. I know about skim milk here in Portland, so it's not a left coast thing. I mean, we exist on Starbuck's, if that helps you out. You can ask for a soy latte, a skim no foam mocha, whatever.
